Realistically speaking, how many more years does this company have before they either go bankrupt or get bought out?
You guys talk the same shit over and over decades ago...capcom still makes money and Thats What matters

>>384327624
Not really. They only had 150 million dollars of cash on their financial statements at the beginning of the year. That's why all of their current projects are low budget efforts.
>>384329590
They've always had amounts of cash in that range. There have been times when they had less, it doesn't actually mean shit.
>>384326685
I hope they get bought out by Nintendo and we get some fucking megaman games
>>384330168
Honestly, at this point, it's for their own good. Someone needs to crack the whip on them.
>>384326685
never as long as people eat up monster hunter
>>384330168
it would be either Sony or Disney
>>384330704
>implying people are going to "eat up" World
LOL! The core audience will never play that casual trash and the casuals in nipland won't play anything not on a handheld. The casuals in the west won't give a shit about it either. Capcom will go bankrupt shortly after World flops.
>>384330427
what the fuck is this
>>384326685
Many. I don't really see them going anywhere anytime soon. Not sure why it's such a meme to hate them, there are much worse companies out there.
>>384330820
It would only become marginally less cancerous under Sony though
If a buyout happens, it needs to be either Sega or Nintendo who does it.
>>384330978
Capcom is a wolf in sheep clothing at this point. They seem identical to large western publishers now.
>>384330704
No matter how willing capcom is to accept 2 million worldwide sales, if World doesn't break 4 million in a year then it's a flop compared to the lesser resource intensive and far more profitable portable series.
If they keep up there current BS. 10 to like 30 years at most.
>>384331005
Nintendo is the only one that even has a chance to restore Capcom to similarly to what it was.
>>384331127
In the last two years they've released two monhun games that I had a fuckload of fun playing. That's more than I can say for most other devs.
>>384331226
Overall, yes, but Sega could probably revive a few franchises.
Nintendo has the talent and resources to revive and fix everything, but I'm not sure they would.
>>384329590
>people still parroting that bit of yellow journalism
>>384331326
They're fucking up everything else right now though and look to be screwing up Monster Hunter as well. They aren't even localizing XX for Switch to blunt possible failure or lacking sales from World.
>>384326685
>Crapcom
>>384331326
monster hunter is hard to fuck up
only by drastically going off on the formula like that stupid ass MH XX story bullshit will it not sell
they literally cannot do anything right anymore, I sincerely think they got completely lucky with RE7
>>384331473
Look dude I'm a simple man. If a company releases games I enjoy they're good if they don't they're bad. I enjoy monhun and even SFV, before that I enjoyed the hell out of Dragon's Dogma.
They irritated me with that shitty dmc and by shitting on the legacy of BOF6 but they're making games I enjoy and that's all I really need out of a company.
Compare that to a company like valve or ubisoft or something that make no games I enjoy and it's hard to give capcom too hard of a time.
>>384331841
>ubisoft or something that make no games I enjoy and it's hard to give capcom too hard of a time.
Have you played Rayman?
>>384332351
No. I don't really like platformers. If I was going to play a platformer I'd rather just play something like metroid or castlevania.
>>384331473
>and look to be screwing up Monster Hunter as well
Fuck off. They're going in the direction that most people have wanted them to go in for years now. People screaming that its "casualized garbage" are probably TAutists that started with 3rd gen.
>>384332746
I'm pretty sure "Change mechanics that were in the game since the beginning and worked just fine" wasn't very high on the list of directions people wanted the series to go.
>>384332934
I've been playing since gen one. I don't like talismans, I don't like mounting, I don't think I like exhaustion and I think trample damage should probably still exist. But despite all that the series is still fantastic. A bit of change isn't the end of the world.
You guys keep buying their MH and AA games, so NEVER.
>>384333095
Well, I don't mean to say that World will be shit, but I do have worries about changing core mechanics that have been in the series since the beginning. Most notably at this point being the skill system.
I have no idea if it's a bad or good change since there's been so little shown of it, but I do worry when developers try to fix was wasn't broken since historically its usually changed for the worse.
So I worry, because I think the series is fantastic too.
sega buying capcom when?
>>384333757
Sega is one generation of underage not buying the latest Sonic shovelware away from bankruptcy itself.
>>384333869
>Sega is one generation of underage not buying the latest Sonic shovelware away from bankruptcy itself.
what in the fuck are you trying to say?
>>384330168
>implying Nintendo would treat Megaman better
How delusional nintendotards can be?
>>384333952
double digit IQs can't reading comprehend at that level, try not to worry too much about it
>>384333952
let me translate from 4chan meme speak
>it would take just one generation of children not purchasing the latest mediocre sonic game to bankrupt sega
>>384331372
>but I'm not sure they would
Nintendo is a very conservative company when it comes to buying companies, their strategy is different. They like having a close relationship to companies and support them that way. The only exceptions are when they buy up companies to focus on something Nintendo can't do, so Monolith creates big RPG games, Retro creates Donkey Kong/Metroid/maybe new IP now. It's more likely if Capcom was in trouble Nintendo would buy up some of their franchises like Mega-Man and Monster Hunter. I do they they should buy Platinum to get more action titles on Switch.
>>384334550
>It's more likely if Capcom was in trouble Nintendo would buy up some of their franchises like Mega-Man and Monster Hunter.
yeah, im sure selling their biggest ips will help capcom in the long run.
You guys tried Mega Maker yet? I'm having lots of fun with it.
>>384334550
>It's more likely if Capcom was in trouble Nintendo would buy up some of their franchises like Mega-Man and Monster Hunter.
Maybe for Monster Hunter, Resident Evil and Street Fighter. Megaman doesn't have even nearly half the value his fans delusionally want to believe.
>>384334710
If they're going bankrupt it's not like they have a choice, anon. Capcom doesn't have that much money but the few franchises they do have print a lot of money so I don't see them going bankrupt anytime soon. They're not like the shovelware companies that kept making the same mistakes, even the Resident Evil franchise is going back to its roots and it's selling well.
its gonna be sega, just watch.
>>384334724
These indie devs need to stop announcing the release of this shit.
Surprised it wasn't halted before dropping.
>>384334868
Oh, you did not diss Mega-Man. Besides, can't you see how valuable his IP would be under Nintendo? They can print amiibo of that motherfucker and print money with that shit. They can create new genre in a platformer they're extremely experienced with. They're platformer gods. Of all the franchises Capcom has Mega-Man suits Nintendo the most. You also forget that if it would be owned by Nintendo it would easily sell more because they own their own hardware.
>>384326685
They're already halfmobile games
>>384335115
Since when has Capcom ever taken down a nonprofit fangame?
>>384334881
nintendo isnt just gonna get away with buying their biggest franchises. companies will try and buy out capcom if they go bankrupt, and a buyout is the more attractive choice.
ayyy
>>384335457
I suppose. It would be weird to see Resident Evil as a Nintendo exclusive though
>>384334038
I mean retro did a great job with dkc. I wanna see what they could do with something like megaman, viewtiful joe or castlevania.
>YWN see a Megaman game get the Kid Icarus treatment and get big again
>No more good games or reboots
>No possibility of Megaman Legends 3
>MVCI is likely the last time ever MegaMan gets represented by any Capcom game
Why even live?
>>384334550
Platinum doesn't want to be bought by anyone.
