Rolling Ball and Riding The Goddamn Manray levels are annoying.
Controls sometimes glitch out, especially the left-right directions on 3D planets.
Some bosses are repetitive both within their own fight and are repeated multiple times throughout the game. The Bowser fights are amongst the best examples.
Amount of secrets, most importantly secret stars, is sufficient but still limited, which isn't exactly to my taste.
Prankster Comets still lack in variety.
Without comets the difficulty is only moderately esy to average at best and only goes up to slightly hard in the levels that have them.
The flying powerup is literally used in one level and the hub even though it's the best powerup.

Piss easy. Linear. Wagglan'. Controls that don't fit the linear gameplay, allowing you to make long jumps that skip entire level segments. It's basically the worst game of all time.

I just completed SMG2 for the first time a few days ago, and while it could be frustrating on purple coin levels, I thought the Rolling Ball ones were my favorite of the gimmick levels. What was absolute fucking trash though was the fucking ones where you race with that bird. Those controlled badly and I always wished I could re-calibrate midflight, but couldn't
