GH3 can only have so many songs loaded at a time, so to fix that they added a mod that let's you toggle setlists with the press of a button. 39 setlists max with 79 songs allowed in each. You could easily make a setlist for each letter and sort by that.

TTFAF was mostly just hard at the start and that one little section 3/4ths through the main solo, DWDtG was just complete handrape for 7 minutes.

Though if you want to see pure, unadulterated bullshit, look up Steve Ouimette's cover of Dueling Banjos for World Tour. The strumming section at the end is practically impossible.

My guitar teacher, who thought these games were dumb, changed his tune when I told him this.

I fucking love Guitar Hero/Rock Band, man. GH3, GH: Aerosmith, Rock Band 1 & 2 -- had so much fun with those.

Friend of mine bought Guitar Hero Live and it fucking sucks. It's no longer a row of 1x5, rather, 2x3. It fucking sucks and it super confusing to play & read the notes, especially when already accustomed to 1x5. You basically have to chop your ring & pinky finger off to play.

I downloaded Frets on Fire about a month ago and it's tight, especially since I still have my GH3 PS2 guitar and a PS2 to USB adapter. Read it perfectly. A ton of songs out there too.


Anyone know of anything better than FoF? I've heard there was this other one called Phase Shift, anyone ever use that?

If anything I feel the future of the genre is in the vein of Rocksmith. Instrument simulator/tutor with huge song lists and selections for instruments.

Ideally there could be an AI to analyze and chart the songs to 100% accuracy, you could select any music you want, with local and online drop in/out play.

The attempts at mixing the genre with VR currently are meme status. Fuck VR and 4k.

That seems to be the case for a lot of songs. Hell, a lot of the actual artists that get featured in these games can't even beat their own songs while playing. Plastic guitars and real guitars are two different beasts.

It really wasn't, the hardest part was at the end, and if you've bullshitted your way through Jordan you can at least get completion. The "hard" part is just orange to red, pinky to index, and you shift down, and do the same motion, and shift back up, repeat.

Unnecessary difficulty songs would include The Way It Ends, The Devil Went Down To Georgia, and Before I Forget. There's not much to prepare you for what those songs throw at you.

Guitar hero and rock band tends to overplay certain parts of songs. I can play both a real guitar and real drumset and also play expert very well on GH and RB. Certain songs are harder to play on GH and Rock Band than on a real instrument. Examples being:
