I want a Dead Rising 1 remaster, not just a port. The original is already great but things can be improved.

Leave the combo weapons out obviously, the story and missions stay the same, maybe add cut missions if there are any. Leave the damn timer in. I'd buy this in a heartbeat. Would you want anything added/left the same?

Mount & Blade also. /v/ tends to gravitate pretty hard towards games that have a lot of passion and "heart" put into them, even if they have mechanical flaws.

They'd absolutely fuck it up. I don't trust modern Capcom to do anything right. Look at RE7, SFV, and MvCI. Besides, Dead Rising on PC already solves the first issue and the controls, driving, and AI are what make the game unique. It still feels like a survival horror game because the controls are restricted enough to not let you mow down thousands of zombies with an AR like in 3 and 4. The vehicles control just fine. The only time you really need to use them anyway is to get Zombie Genocider. AI is shit, I absolutely won't argue against that. But I've played the game so much I can easily do a Saint playthrough every single time so the survivor AI doesn't bother me.

I can respect your opinion but I'm the opposite. DR1 has near perfect pacing in my opinion, whereas RE4 feels off at times with its pacing. It is a great game but by 2-1 you should already be so powerful that only boss fights should ever be a threat.

If they make major changes I'd want that to be in a new game mode. Some kind of pvp/pve multiplayer

Imagine an online mode that takes place in the entire map, no loading screens between areas - all one big map, 100 players all running around the mall. Some are psychopaths hunting for survivors, zombie players who can control hordes and try to consume as many people as they can. Barricading stores and trying to hold off zombie players or psychopath players. Idk. There's a lot you could do with that setting.

depends what they'd do with it. survivors shouldn't be intelligent killing machines because most of them are meant to be dumb mall goers. all they need is to make it so they don't stop as frequently to find their pathing, which you can kind of do yourself by setting markers for them instead of spamming the shouts
