It is. These people are retards. The entire market is down 50% from the all time high and steadily falling.

>>384268413
It's a simple fix by the retailer. Just limit it like 1 or 2 per customer. Easy.

Look at the way this guy styles his hair. You know he's a grown man who thinks he's a big man on campus with his fucking 10 year old's haircut buying up those GPUs because he's gonna be a millionaire with all his crypto currency.

Nah thankful I didn't waste my time or money on it and developed actual wealth.
How much have you made Mr.Rockefeller?

Hopefully the gpu market will be at a record low in February. When I build a decent pc. Might go with Ruben but amd cpus are shite for vms and emulation.

Jesus, I know a guy that was fired for taking an extra 10 minutes on a break. He was homeless for almost a year.

I do yeah. But this was a PC that displayed to three monitors on the wall.
>>
>>384268256
so long as this shit goes on my money is going towards a ps4

was going to get a new gpu, but fuck it, the prices just keep skyrocketing way past ridiculous. I mean fuck, the msi gtx 1060 launched for £200, and it's currently on amazon for £320, the cheapest place to buy parts online.

I can just get a ps4 slim for £225 and play the exclusives while I go through my backlog on pc until graphics cards go back to normal

I'm going to sell my 480 for around $300 and get a new gpu, what should I get?
I have 5 monitors and need all of them, and I also need good performance on each one (running multiple games concurrently)
>>
>>384268908
>people that work for a living
>"work"

what the fuck are you talking about? this dude is buying products at RETAIL to resell on eBay because he doesn't have a job.

actually, the irony is that whenever i've read forum threads on buying hot items for resale (the switch comes to mind most recently), the people buying these things have to either wait at a store for hours or be constantly going to the store to check stock. when you get a real job you figure out that this guy's time must be worth literally nothing because god only knows how much time and effort he spent to only make like $2000

>>384269402
not sure why micro center doesn't do this already either, trying to get multiple raspberry pi zeros from them was like fucking pulling teeth, and i wasn't trying to resell those i just had 3 projects i wanted to do.
>>
>>384269969
what the fuck do you need 5 monitors for
>>

what's happening here?

The dude is enterprising. You think guys like him doing only one thing with their monies? You're out of touch. That's most likely one of ten things a guy like him does to generate revenue.

investing is how you make wealth.
As soon as crypto currencies got on mt gox they became "legit" went up 1000% and "legit" brokers and investors started the game with them. Do you not think there are server farms mining them constantly. These fags in OP's pic are just small potatoes trying to be big fish
>>
>>384270185
micro center has good deals

even when they're not on sale, it's usually the best place to buy cpu/mobo
>>
>>384270329
China runs that shit, people with the means can make it profitable. The guy in OPs pic and the faggot I replied to most certainly have not.

rx 480 you dense retard
>>
I don't understand this bit mining fad, but I bought my 1050 for 129.99
>>
>>384269415

management clearly didn't understand what was going on there. when BTC was at like $13 i was working IT at a university and floated the idea of starting a mining pool to the guys i worked directly with. we would use just the machines that were in our office, although the idea got tossed around to install it on machines we got sent to work on. ultimately we all ended up saying fuck it because we were too lazy and we'd only be netting like $3k/year split 4 ways.

shortly after i graduated/left that job i was watching Office Space and at the part where they explain the virus that gives them the pennies rounded off of each transaction. was glad i didn't try to mine on work PCs.
>>
>>384270667
Of course you don't understand, walletlet.
>>
>>384270534
Im gonna take a wild guess and say he's talking about rx480
>>
>>384270667
1050 isn't a great card for mining, has a ver low profit/energy consumptiom rate. 1060 and above are generally used for Eth mining.
>>
>>384268256
>that suit
>that hair
>that weight
Honestly though this is what you cheap, waiting faggots deserve, next time don't put off buying a card for a year
>>
>>384270208

>comparing this guy to an entrepreneur
your post is marginally good bait but all you have to do is look at this guy's haircut and the full suit he's wearing to micro center to realize that this guy is supplementing his SSI or his bartending income reselling shit
>>
wouldn't more RAM bet better than more VRAM for data mining?

How do you mine graphical data, and for what?
>>
>>384268256
>"Give me a nice tidy cut, but then stick a bat on my head and let him panic for a bit."
>>
>>384270462
yeah it's bullshit but if he can make his money back on the hardware and electricity in a year (idk the money making ability)
he then has a computer that is literally making him money constantly, and is able to be sold, or upgraded etc.
it;s an investment
>>
>>384270950
where does the profit come in at?
>>
>>384269762
>>384269415
Affirmative action. It just werks.
>>
>>384271167
you make your money back on most high end cards in a couple months and that's if you buy 1 card or 1000, after a few months it's all profit
>>
>>384271280
No, poojeets are expendable throwaway labor.
In this case it's management not realizing how bad that really is.
>>
>>384268256
JUST
>>
>>384271410
If their on a visa maybe. Indian citizens get gibsmedat privileges on jobs.
>>
>>384271323
What's profit?

I don't understand what you even do with the cards after you buy them

1. buy card
2. ????
3. profit
>>
>>384271650
mine bitcoins.
>>
>>384271751
how do you mine?
>>
>>384271818
you use your GPUs.
>>
>>384271167
Since your card is being used for complex calculations, it has to run 24/7 which consumes power. So if your card does not perform a certain number of these calculations per month, you only make a small profit compared to cost. Factor in cards that fail due to heat or manufacturer defaults.
>>
>>384271650
easiest way is to sell your processing power and have people pay you for your time like nicehash
>>
>>384271115
>idk the money making ability
clearly you don't because the only way to make any money mining is either to own a server farm or to be a part of a mining pool. either way, you're making maybe $5000/year with even one rig. this doesn't take into account the volatility of crypto, either, meaning that the value could tank within that year and leave you at a loss.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heiPMY9gOWg

these fags were bitcoin mining and even with that giant setup, they still shut down because it's not worth it. if this is something you're trying to do to supplement income, the extra effort spent is way not worth the miniscule profit.
>>
>>384268413
what is he doing?
>>
>>384271904
also IIRC the complexity of the calculation increases. This means in a couple of months the time/coin ratio of cards like the 1060 will drop drastically.
>>
>>384268256
Has this shit crashed yet?
>>
>Decide to upgrade
>Replace everything but keep Windows on the SSD
>Finish the upgrade and start
>Windows isn't working and is doing a disk check that's taking a gorillion years
>>
>>384271818
There are websites that can give you a quicker rundown than this thread can. Just search bit coin mining. The main takeaway is that cards have been bought up en masse by miners to farm magical internet money and casual gamers are left holding the bag on PC parts. Add in the cost of RAM jumping with phones and you have a disaster.
>>
>>384270359
Really? I've never been to one since I'm not really sure why, are they worth checking out?
