start by playing "the lab" its on steam and is valve´s demo of a sort for it then play games from this list

My recommendations so far:

Robo Recall (free if you got the rift + touch) - 10/10 action game that's very unique in its style of play. Rewards creativity and has an excellent soundtrack and graphics.

Subnautica - Excellent survival metroidvania on its own but becomes something quite different in VR.

Dead and buried - also free if you have the touch. Haven't played it yet but it is downloaded. Not sure why I'm recommending it.

Elite Dangerous - it's the game only from a VR perspective. Has a very cool "feel" to it in VR with the freedom to look around.

Porn - highly recommend the super high quality VR videos from Naughty America. Beware, the videos tend to be over 10gb each but are very well made. Haven't tried these but also there's those Japanese sims and even some western ones out there.

Do not recommend - Stuff like racing games. Gives you motion sickness.
