Ryzen for gaming is fake news
This hasn't been news for years. Nvidia works in-house with developers and gives them shady incentives like free graphics cards for their team if they optimize around Nvidia cards. Meanwhile, they keep prices skyhigh, while AMD flounders to create catch-up drivers and patches.
AMD is great for the price, but the industry revolves around Intel and Nvidia.

Ermm, they used an Intel CPU because that was the testbed for the previous graphics card.
AMD hasn't had a competitive CPU between T-Bird and Ryzen, so why intentionally hobble the published framerates for the graphics cards?
If Ryzen CPUs ever get to the point where they overperform Intel CPUs (and they're already there in certain games), they will start using those for their comparisons (and nVidia will start using AMD CPUs for their testbeds as well).
