You'll get full control over it in a few more hours. The side quests are kind of annoying, but they do pick up a bit, and the optional dungeons are pretty fun and pretty rewarding when yo start getting the Royal Arms.

This game, holy shit. The pacing is all off the charts. You go from mashing 2 buttons for 30 hours while collecting boar asses, the having bars and bars full of abilities and immersive political intrigue.

If they just fixed the early game slog, it would be so much better. Though, it could be said that it weeds-out the instant gratification shitters.

I played this recently and couldn't stand the combat. It felt like it was intended to be really precise and careful, but a lot of attacks for both the player and the enemies used really odd attacks that had weird hitboxes and weren't really clear where they were going to be.

All the other systems in the game were fantastic though.

The AI of the survivors is very inconsistent, some are killing machines, while others lay down and cry every five feet. I think this is intentional, but still very annoying.
