People usually whine about lack of good gameplay because there's too much focus on graphics at the expense of everything else.

I still play it and it's getting new updates and DLC soon, they have been very consistent with updates and new features, which is why I like the game since they keep giving you new things to do, I have no idea what the story is honestly I just play because it's fun.

I can't wait to play this game, I just have such a large backlog I haven't bought it yet.

I'm still playing it. Granted I only got it a few weeks ago and play a mission or two at a time. Perfect for me these days.
The DLC was great and the last boss was a real clencher for me. Odachi is great too. Wish I bought it along side the main game I could have had it from the beginning.

Looking forward to the Tonfas in the next DLC.
Also, I'm glad I spend little to no time on here these days too. My quality of life has increased dramatically.

No it doesn´t. You can have fucking memorable characters without having any big story but just lore e.g.

Also I tried to play witcher 2, which has some great story, characters and shit. But the gameplay is so fucking disgusting. So stupidly designed, combat is hit roll roll roll roll roll roll roll roll hit. If you are unlucky they can block everything you can´t block anything and they gank you down. Go to some monster you didn´t see, die and get your last save (from 30 minutes ago)

The bossfight against the fucking octopus was also shit as fuck.

I feel like Nioh would have been more successful if it actually was more like souls. This action / diablo loot pinata shit gets dull pretty fast. Even more so with how they keep adding on more difficulty modes and expecting you to play through the game again to get better gear. With most things being random there's no incentive to really explore through an area fighting same handful of enemies over and over. Finding a hidden spot and getting a unique treasure can be an exciting experience but that doesn't really fucking happen in Nioh. You're just left praying for good drops and later on you're only praying for divines.
