I like how the game looks and the idea of it. But ex and fighting layer aren't amazing games, pretty kuso really. Maybe they got some new guys tho, I doubt many from that time still work there as they have done fuck all of relevance in ages.
My other worry is gems, not an inherently flawed system but some stuff like ghost after dashing seems like a bad idea.

The SF EX games have really solid soundtracks. Of course music is subjective etc., but most video game music is on the par of something an AI could compose (and that probably includes your muh nostalgia best vidya song ever) except with EX series there's some actual effort put into the soundtrack. It's not Street Fighter. Even though these guys worked on SFEX, this has nothing to do with Capcom. Arika is 100% independent and has their own publisher for this title.

I'm sure it had it's detractors but I think when SF4 came out people really warmed up to it. Obviously they're not identical but EX2 and SF4 in particular felt very similar when playing them back to back.
3 gets a lot of hate but I've not played that one. If nothing else the series has great music.

I'm very excited to see more. Right off the bat I think the game looks great for being developed out of nowhere, and the Arika IP characters were always some of my most desired Street Fighter characters for future titles.
My favorite is the sound design right now. Which is kinda funny because it's just based around re-utilizing the EX sound boards. Sounds of a classic fighting game era evokes good feelings. Everyone's already pointed out the godlike EX OSTs. I know they're riding off of the nostalgia but I'm game for it since there's been nothing representing this IP for a decade and a half.
It still looks rough around the edges, not as jarring as KOF14 was at this stage but there's still something to be desired when you watch people actually play. Gameplay-wise they have the rest of the year to work on it so I'm looking forward to 2018 announcements.
