I just remembered that this exists, and now I want to play it for old times sake. Does it even run on modern systems ?
>>
No idea but that game was dope. The wand duels were sick and I remember it being pretty lengthy for an older game.
>>
> I remember it being pretty lengthy for an older game

wut? games being shorter than 10h is a trend that started around 2005 (the original splinter cell got some flak for it).

>>384249127
i'm pretty sure it will run just fine. HP1 & 2 were based on the unreal engine as far as i know and other UE games usually don't have any problems with current windows versions.
>>
PS2 version for 2-3 was GOAT
>>
>>384249127
not sure about the pc versions, but i recently emulated the ps1 versions of PS and COS and they're both still great, though from what I've heard the PC "ports" were pretty much completely different games
>>
>>384249605
Every version was actually different from the others

>games being shorter than 10h is a trend that started around 2005

Utter crap. How long a game takes to beat is highly dependent on it's genre but generally speaking the simple action-adventure, FPS, TPS, etc. stuff opted for the 8-12 hour length starting in the fifth gen and that aim largely still exists today. When talking about the third and fourth gens you were lucky if the game was longer than a few hours, they would typically resort to things like being hard as balls to pad their play times out.
>>
>>384249127
these games hold up better than they have any right to

FLIPENDO!
>>
>>384249357
incorrect, almost every gameboy game is shorter than 10h
>>
>>384249605
PC ports are absolutely horrible. Prisoner of Azkaban on my ps2 was fucking amazing so I thought I'd download it on PC, huge mistake

You need to be 18 to post here.
>>
>>384249127
Works with non-CD patched games since Windows 10 blocks Securom but has two interesting bugs on most modern systems since it's not FPS capped.
>Games speeds up during FPS spikes
>Harry becomes insanely fast during these

For best experience, run in windowed mode and use DXtory to cap the FPS at 60.

If your card doesn't handle the graphics properly, run in software render mode.

Thanks anon.

Nice, thanks

>want to play 2 and 3 again
>to do that I'd need to buy the original games plus an hdmi converter
Why must it be so hard
>>
>>384252546
>>to do that I'd need to buy the original games plus an hdmi converter
Why so? Preinstalled/precracked version are easy to find on TPB.
>>
>>384252783
PS2 versions can't be emulated nor played unless they're original
>>
>>384252858
Oh, didn't know you meant the console version of them.
Can't you get a component to HDMI cable or a PS2 to HDMI cable cheap off Ebay?
>>
>>384249127
The GBC Harry Potter games were sick

>can't be emulated
Says who ? What about this one ?
https://www.emuparadise.me/Sony_Playstation_2_ISOs/Harry_Potter_and_the_Chamber_of_Secrets_(Europe)/153501
Granted, I haven't tried to run it, is it one of these games where it simply can't be made to be compatible with any emulator ?
>>
>>384249605
Thing about the early Harry Potter games was every version was totally unique

Not him but https://pcsx2.net/compatibility-list.html

Sweet, thanks!
>>
>>384253318
The hdmi converter shouldn't be hard to find, but the problem is finding the games, last time I checked they were €50 each

>>384253367
Tried it myself ages ago, they just won't go past the Start Game screen

>There is currently no solution. A work in progress patch is available for the NTSC-U and NTSC-J versions that can get the game past the loading screens. However, even with the patch the game will still eventually freeze.

Well, that sucks. I don't really know much about ps2 emulators, but I remember how Rogue Squadron on N64 had the same problem, where it simply can't be emulated in a playable state.

Pretty sure the US version doesn't work on an EU console. Anyway, later I'm gonna check on EU eBay
>>
>>384254385
I got my copy of Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets in great condition from a local thrift shop for €2 each.
>>
I have the PS2 version, a CRT TV, the console, but both the disc and the drive in my console are messed up (it's more on the disc, PS1 games rune fine), so I only made it to the flying school before I got fed up with the loading forever
I also played the PC version back in the day and beaten it a lot of times(hardly an achievement)
I'm gonna have work out a hard drive for the PS2, it seems
>>
>>384249127
Man, I loved the shit out of this game when I was younger. Any more like it? I heard the third one, azkaban, was similar, before the games started to be pure shit

I could also just buy a new copy of the game, I guess
