I play Tekken because it's the only 3D fighter alive at the moment and I do like the characters and find the moves cool etc. but there's so much retarded needlessly convoluted garbage in the game. Soul Calibur is a much more sensible in its coreplay, the movement is easy and intuitive (can't think of a good reason why it has to be so stiff in Tekken and require weird shit like Korean backdash to play competently), execution is for the most part very easy, no need for tedious hours in practice room grinding the juggles and you can instead git gud by just playing the game which is infinitely more fun. The characters are also more contrasting in range, speed of movement, speed of atttack, different weapons which makes it more interesting than Tekken that has comparatively homogeneous rost where almost all characters have heavy emphasis on kicks and punches and there's no drastic difference in range or speed.

It's fine when you're a beginner, but there is SO much depth to the movement as you progress in skill level. So fucking much. I'd say Tekken movement is more complicated than Marvel or Smash movement. So moving like the pros do that you see on stream at Evo is pretty unnatural and takes a lot of practice, but you can still play and enjoy the game as a beginner as you gradually master these movement skills.

I remember someone ripped the models and like half of their actual geometry is missing because the game wouldn't run at 90fps with the full models rendering or something. I'm a huge fan of Soulcalibur, Tekken, GG and Melty Blood. I'm not playing them right now though because I don't care to play Tekken competitively, I had an issue where I gotta rebuy GG and the others are dead (at least for now).

So I just play Overwatch. The pain reminds me that I'm alive.

I like that new cat character in Blazblue, but the overall style in Guilty Gear seems better. Not sure which one I prefer (I haven't touched either)

I hit gold rank in SFV and realized that im not ever going to get better than that, so I stopped playing.
I'm happy with it though. I've never hit gold rank in any competitive game that has a bronze/silver/gold ranking system before.

I mean, I did, but I uninstalled after season 2. The game isn't going to get any smarter or more interesting, we'll never get a character that really demands any execution or tech skill, we'll never get characters with better walkspeeds and normals or defensive tools or anything. It's just clear that this is the kind of game capcom wants, a slugfest of dashing and jumping and holding fake looking blockstrings and pressure where our only ticket out is maybe a reversal jab or maybe a very risky ex dp. No invincible backdashes or system mechanics ever.

I'm having way more fun getting back into GG. Eddie is fun and I'm enjoying practicing tech and execution again. Finding lobbies and skilled people to play with is never a problem either.

And now that Geese is in Tekken 7 I'll be getting that too. I'll be looking into dbz and arcsys crossover fighter and even arika's game when those come out. There's just no reason to take Capcom's shit anymore when they've made it clear that they don't want their games to have skill gaps.
