I am and it's going well. Planning how I want to do creatures in a way that lets you and them interact together in multiple kinds of ways.

I feel like it would be great if all creatures were dangerous depending on the situation. For example, tiny jellyfish could provide light and refill your oxygen, but also attract bigger creatures if there are any nearby or some starfish could be held onto and they'd give you a ride but if they happen to be hungry they turn around and grab you.

Most of the stuff is GPU limited nowdays, there's enough CPU to compensate for bad programming or the use of visual scripting tools.

I dunno, man, I've played a lot of shitty games by artists who can't code multiple mechanics or optimize. Even if CPUs are amazing these days, it's still easy to poorly utilize them. Most artists don't implement threading or coroutines.

Dwarf Fortress and Minecraft are the one that stands out the most. 2D SHMUPs are popular programmer projects since ships are easier to draw (can't remember if Touhou's dev was a programmer to begin with, but his art sure was bad).
