Which game is this? I thought Skullomania was a Street Fighter character.

Honestly Im absolutely astounded that this is actually happening. Like this is the most surprised Ive ever been at a game reveal. I really hope it does well

Skullomania is from a side-series that isn't made by Capcom, called Street Fighter EX. The characters are being reused for a new series, called New Akira EX or something. The characters themselves are in a kind of creative limbo, but it looks like they're saved from Crapcom's clutches. Other characters include a Spanish-American named Cracker Jack who plays like Balrog with a baseball bat, and a guy in a mask with razor wire named Doctrine Dark.

Same thoughts. The only fighter I've spent any time with was Street Fighter EX3 and I never thought I'd see a continuation of the series over 15 years later.

See what happened was Capcom hired Arika to make them a 3D SF game. Arika made a bunch of their OC donuts to go alongside some of the SF cast of which Skullo was one of.

Now as for who owns what I can't say. I remember hearing for a long time Arika basically has the right to all their donuts (which was the big excuse why they never came back) so what appears to be happening is they're making them their own non SF game

With this announcement, I should try getting back into fighters to prepare myself. I bought ultra SF4 a while back on PC but never installed it, is the online populated at all?

I think you'd be better off emulating EX. But if you wanna try 4, I think it's pretty alright. I mostly play on console so don't take me as the gospel truth.

Who's your favourite EX character? Hokuto always felt so fluid to me, she'd be the one I always go back to when I'm having trouble with other characters.

Really sad that my EX3 disc is all worn out, the music starts skipping and looping the last few seconds and crashes whenever the fight is over. Supposedly the early blue PS2 discs were notorious for wearing out though.

They must realized SFV is in serious trouble if their plan B is deliberately a game built around C listers.

It would be pretty awesome If this overshadowed actual Street Fighter though.

If none of the characters from THIS game are in this game, I will be greatly disappointed. Especially since it's called 'FIGHTING LAYER EX', not 'EX MINUS STREET FIGHTER'.
