I don't know about a "huge" following, but it's followed by some people alright. When Monty was alive, the fight scenes were really well choreographed, but other animations, such as characters talking and such looked janky. Like, the show looked way better in action, and when just talking and stuff it resembled South Park.

The Red and White trailers are probably the best thing to come out of RWBY. I wish the show was more minimalist; just a bunch of cool fighting with a plot that slowly grows in the background.

Season 3 was probably the best in terms of writing. The fights are nowhere near as good as the trailers and earlier seasons, but the fucking stakes were raised higher than ever. Too bad season 4 is mostly exposition with a few fights. Or from what I saw, at least.

One of the core things that RWBY was built on was the fight scenes animated by Monty Oum who made dead fantasy. He died right after the second season and the rest of the company decided to keep making it in his memory, heres the thing, Monty was their best fight choreographer and despite the fact that the shows animation and voice acting improved drastically, the fights have dropped in their quality slightly from not having montys guiding hand. show is still good but the fight animation has caused a lot of debate in the community.

They're most likely going to homogenize the mechanics and implement a system that accommodates every character. They'll have to tweak how their attacks and animations work with that in mind too or else the UNIEL characters would rape everyone with their huge normals and halfscreen footsies or the rolling from P4A would make them untouchable.

I really doubt they're just going to lift the entire rosters from each game and call it a day. That would be a MUGEN tier shitshow. I'm expecting maybe 5-6 characters from each series with maybe some DLC down the line since it's Arksys we're talking about.

Because RWBY conflicts with certain peoples idea of glorious nippon animated entertainment, and it anger peoples. They're so protective of their beloved idea of what anime is that when something doesn't fit their beloved idea they go full autistic screeching. Like fans of idols, anime to certain people is something sacred and pure, and they will relentlessly protect it. RWBY definitely has its flaws; there are some pretty good parts to it, but also a lot of bad ones, yet Japan loves it all the same. Big names VA's, manga spinoffs, it's got the works.

This shit reminds of Persona 4. There was lots of dumb arguments over best girl and shit like that, but by the far most vocal and annoying group were the anti Rise people. Sure the Risefags can be annoying but the spew of RISE A SLUT was by far the most consistent. It's the same thing here. Majority of people think RWBY is an average, maybe above average series at best, but by far the loudest faction are the people that hate RWBY. It wouldn't nearly be as successful as it was if that was the norm. It's just the standard vocal minority that says they gave up on it during the first season and have been repeating themselves for years.
