Its pretty good, but the reinforcements that get to move right after spawning is bullshit and bad game design. They turn many levels into trial and error that requires you either use save states, take the game really, really slow, let characters you like die or waste hours on each level. They would not be a problem if they spawned in areas where your troops would definitely not be in, but the countless waves of Wyvern Riders spawning in the middle of the map hurts a number of chapters that would be great otherwise.

As casual as that sounds, its really hurts the fun of the game and any remake of it should have the "Turnwheel" from Echoes: SoV or reinforcements that don't get to move the turn they spawn.

Another problem I had with it is that the maps all have the same objective, seize the throne/castle/fort.

FE7 is by far the better of the two simply for having level/objective variety and no bullshit reinforcements. 7's difficulty is "fair" while 6's can be from trial and error and bad design.

This is why I laugh when people say lower growths make the game more balanced. Fates, particularly Conquest, had the right idea. Higher growths make stat gains more predictable and less likely you get screwed over hard enough to the point where you have to dump a character. Pair up helps as well.

Micaiah is significantly better than Roy

For one thing, she has 1-2 range, so her squishiness is less of a problem than it is for Roy. She also has a practically infinite-use PRF weapon in Thani that allows her to one-shot every general/cavalier in part 1, which is a huge boon. Upon promotion she gets access to Staves, which gives her a shitload more utility. Oh, and she also promotes at a reasonable time.

Roy, on the other hand, is a terrible unit in every way. He has shitty stats, can't tank, can't deal damage, can't double, has zero utility, and has a late as fuck promotion that gimps him even further. Roy makes Micaiah look like Haar.
