I just finished Soul Reaver the other day but I finished Blood Omen before it. I have to agree. I like Kain as a main character more and quite frankly, the combat is better than Soul Reaver's. I did still like Soul Reaver though. I think it is cool how much of Raziel's quest parallels to Kain's in BO. I can't believe some people would skip Blood Omen as well since it made Soul Reaver so much cooler to play. I find it hilarious that Malek's empty spot is defaced as fuck in the Sarafan tomb. Kain is probably is still ass blasted about Malek dominating him back then.

Man, the narration going through the games was probably one of my favorite parts about them. Michael Bell's voice is silky smooth to my ears. Wish more games did stuff like this.

Yes. It is actually pretty unusual that the first game is self-contained. Like if it never got a sequel, it could have ended there. But at the same time a LOT of stuff happened in Blood Omen that is later referenced in the other games.

I give up too easy in these games. Ever since I got lost in SR I just dropped it. After the Silent Cathedral I just seemed to get stuck.
Ariel says some shit about behind the throne, but whenever I go there, or atleast, I believe I go there, I walk in circles and end up getting nowhere.
It also seems like I missed the teleport point that looks like the pillars. The fuck do I do?

Alternatively I could look up a walkthrough, but I've gotten really lazy when it comes to that

Man I loved playing Blood Omen back on Windows 95, mainly because of the fantastic atmosphere of the game. I should probably get to actually complete it now. Is soul reaver the next game to play afterwards? Never got around to play the ps1 games.

The only issue I had with Blood Omen 1 was going to and back from the menu to switch weapons and items around but other than that, it is great.
