Not really, but at the time people were freaking out because it meant less options for potential Jailbreaks, exploits and mods.

But seriously, for most of PS3s life NOGAEMS was just a easier method of mockery so there was basically no need to fuck with the slogan and the disablinfg did happen around the time PS3 actually started gaining steam over the 360.
