Cellphones are just PETs desu. There's a lot they could do there. Each game has at least, what, 10 - 15 navis? That's over 60 characters right there. Skullgirls has a fucking mobile game and that franchise only has like 12 fighters. There are so many ways you could do it. Battle Chip Challenge and Real Operation and that one Japanese game with RideMan already have some stuff you could extract.
If they wanted to go full jew it would make sense to make the grind (or real money shortcut) give you better chips instead of better characters. Plus there's no reason you couldn't go on to include Mega Men from the other franchises
Probably some Zero game with slashing with the stylus, like Risings Zandatsus.

I always thought a Battle Network game on the phone would be the perfect fit. Fighting would still be easy on a phone. They can make it so you can costumize your own navi and make your own deck.And make an Interface Ui or Theme for your phone so your Navi tells you when you have a notification.
