This thread is a good example of why /v/ is so awful.

You've got actual children who have never heard the name George Romero before acting like nobody should care that he died. Then, you've got people who have heard of him also acting like no one should care that he died. Then, you've got people who know the man's history, his body of work, and the cultural impact he had and are trying to show the first two groups who he was and why it is unfortunate that he has passed, and they are called new and laughed at for daring to care about another human beings existence.
