Good stuff is being released in most reigons, but I feel the japanese AAA scene is one hell of a lot stronger than the western. It's extremely rare that a good western AAA title comes out, but almost all japanese AAA titles are good.

However, the western smaller scale/indie scene is miles stronger than the japanese.
