Has other game ever caused this much butthurt?

MGSV wasn't even that bad, I just have a feeling most of the content that was "deleted" is just hidden behind that nuclear dismantle ending. Script in the game proves it. It's really not that bad

MGS2 caused so much butthurt that it very noticeably hurt MGS3's sales.

Considering how it killed Konami and, by extension, Gradius, Parodius, Goemon, Contra, Salamander and basically everything that made life worth living I'd say it goes pretty far beyond mere butthurt. Kojima is on my eternal shitlist.
