Was this game a precursor for the Kekistani movement?

That mind numbingly idiotic plot that actually takes itself seriously. Talking about half truths using logical fallacies and misinformation.

Or was it something like MGS 2 where you're supposed to draw trenchcoat mafia (or alt right in today's lingo) to buy your game? I can imagine a fat drooling American retard nodding vigorously when Australian (lol that accent) nigger bartender in a Triad bar starts talking about strong authoritarian government and its benefits over democratic society because BAWWW THERE IS CORRUPTION AND DEATH SQUADS CANNOT FUNCTION PROPERLY AS THEY DO IN CHINKLAND BOOO

>>384167331
it's pretty much a completely new campaign. some people can't get into it because it was made by members of an old deus ex forum for members of an old deus ex forum, and the plot revolves around said forum, so there are quite a few self-inserts, but if you can get past that you're in for a wild ride look for easter eggs as much as possible
also, pissing off the antagonist yields hilarious results and you can even tell the good guys to fuck off and align yourself with him and betray him later if you want
>>
>>384167224

It's a game about conspiracies. That's why there's so much weird shit about chemtrails and area 51 and all the other crazy shit in the game.

Deus Ex (the series) and Dishonored have a common problem. People rave about how you can play any way you want, but the truth is, if you play any way other than stealth you'll find the combat is clunky and unsatisfying and the game will end up being too short.

I agree, but at least DX has the decency to add levels were you can explore without combat. DuClare, Hong Kong, Unatco, etc. And even then it takes it's fair share of exploration to find canisters and augs. Either way the game probably wouldn't take anything less than 12 hours even in aggro mode.

Also GMDX makes aggro way more fun

Sort of off topic but fuck me if the architecture in HR and MD isn't beautiful
I can't get enough of the quasi neo-futurist shit in those games, the fucking polygonal ceilings and walls and the hanging lights with the supports clearly visible HNNNNNNG
also does anyone have the webm of that one building covered in panels that display images of the building they cover
>>
>>384174218
No. Considering how well it did they probably never mention it. If a game goes bad they usually push out a post mortem about how a game was fucked throughout development (like how ME andromea was made in a year after being scrapped multiple times). But if a game is good they just talk abotu how they got there and rarely talk about how they dropped deep features to wait a minute that card.
>>
>>384181559
I wonder if Warren could manage to make it better if he was allowed to release DX with the extra features he had in mind. He seems like a george lucas, someone who magically managed to shit gold once but now just shits shit

The mantling is useless. It is just the same thing as having speed enhancement, which is one of the first augs in the game. It only works well on GMDX because GMDX adds a bunch of content based around mantling.

The last sections of the game, in particular, are fun that way.

Do this

Should take around 15 minutes, if you already know where shit is at the rest of the game you can go straight to Mr. That's Terror after blowing out the door.

>Can we have Alex Jones write the next Deus Ex game?

He has so much knowledge when it comes to conspiracy theories I would love it if he made his own game separate from Deus Ex. But it has the same concept where you are just a cog in a machine who becomes enlightened and ultimately save the world from the elites.

I don't understand the "SS2 is an RPG" line of thinking. It has as many RPG elements as most modern FPS games.
>>
>>384193972
IMHO they are on the same level but with different highs and lows

Things SS2 does better:
>sound design (effects, production)
>dialogue writing
>immersion
>NPCs: enemies

Things Deus Ex does better:
>music tracks (composition)
>plot writing
>level settings style
>NPCs: characters

>>384205847
Bullshit, combat is gameplay. Dialogue prompts are gameplay in theory only. I love Torment and I can't figure out why is it a problem to state it's a visual novel in everything but name. Okay, you can walk around Sigil as an addendum. It has a built in combat system that does nothing interesting.

You do realize that even Muslim countries (which is what you're aiming for with this 'prophecy') have vastly different cultures? It's like you would compare Mughal and Ottoman Empire and claim it's the same thing. Even if your nonsensical vision of Caliphate Europe would come true in 50 years it would be a bizarre mishmash of technology, minarets and local culture. Why do you think Istanbul looks the way it looks?
>>
>>384206493
>combat is gameplay
I didn't say otherwise and I agree that Planescape's combat isn't very good, but the way the you interact with the game through dialog and roleplaying elements is gameplay.
>>
>>384206878
What I'm saying that the gameplay (in a truly interactive sense which dialogue isn't) in Torment is a sideshow at best - couple of braindead fights and running around town, picking up items. It is completely valid to put it aside when discussing that game. So we're left with something that is a VN in all but name, and is in fact at its best that way.

And of course the game only works up until Ravel's maze, it's an unfinished, boring mess in the second half.
