Blazblue is historically a bad series, with intentionally wack balance where they make the top tiers bad and the bottom tiers godlike as well as introducing overpowered new waifu characters in every game before nerfing them.

Combine this with the series constantly reinventing its system mechanics in order to try and find some kind of niche seperate from guilty gear (despite being made as the New Guilty Gear ala new coke because they lost the lisence for a while) and you're left with a series where every single "sequel" requires you to completely learn your character, your matchups and large parts of the game itself

It's always been garbage, and now that its finally dead because of story mode being resolved we are all better for it.

Izanami's design has been the one design in Blazblue that actually gave me an erection while playing. Her design, her animations, her voice while fighting, just god damn dude. Noel's my favorite character but I just like her because she's quick and cute.

I mean, I don't know about missing anything, but just watch some matches. It's a 3 button fighter, with only crouching, standing and jumping normals. No throws, the substitute is ridiculously easy to react to. Easy special commands complete with an auto steer function.

Nothing really wrong with any of this, but they're clearly going for the same thing they did with Persona: a relatively shallow game that is really gunning for the fans of the franchise at the expanse of fans of deeper fighting games.
