Will we ever get an experience like this again?

we get too many

Name one.
In terms of atmosphere, probably. We're gonna be getting PT rip-offs for at least the next five years, though, so even if we do get a fog-laden rustic setting, it'll probably be filled with jumpscare monsters who pin you against a wall (and probably some QTE shit too).
In terms of writing, probably not for a long time. Not even in film.

QTE aren't terrible as long as they are not overused

There wouldn't be anything remarkable about this game have it been released today.

>a generic walking, door is locked from the other side simulator
Literally go on Steam and take your pick.

I agree.

I don't think people realize just how great SH2 is compared to other Silent Hill games. It's a night and day difference. There's so many details and subtle things in SH2 that go unnoticed. And even then SH2 could be a better game if given more time for development.

This game has aged incredibly well, it would be extremely unique. Especially with today's graphics.
It felt like P. T. could do it, but that's out the window now
How much do I lose if I don't play SH1 before this?

>walking sim
>with weapons and monsters that can actually kill you
>actual puzzles
>actual gameplay mechanics

Not very much but I would still recommend you play 1 first, because you might not be able to go back to it after playing 2 and 3.

Yeah, sadly for me SH2 ruined the entire franchise for me. I shouldn't have started off with it. That's not saying 1 and 3 are bad, but 2 is so damn good.
