Spinoff by a different dev.

More weapons, classes, enemy variety, but it runs like molasses in comparison to how smooth the original game runs. Also has some dumb UI choices, especially in regards to shops.
Also traps everywhere, the staple of Mystery Dungeon games. At least you can set them to visible now, since it was some supreme bullshit getting instant killed.

On aesthetics, it has bigger anime portraits, voice acting, etc.
The story and characters are different, the only returning character from the original game is Dosey.
Music choice is very limited in comparison since it isn't composed of freeware tracks.

There's apparently some online PVP battle mode that I've never played, and it's apparently broken as hell.
Online in general sucks in comparison, it requires twitter integration and doesn't seem as informative as the original feeds.

Also, MCOWH is actually a port of a Vita/PS4 game.

It's a fun roguelike. Has a kind of multiplayer element where you can see the progress of other people playing in the same world seed, and you can meet their ghosts when they die for some free items.

There used to be threads for the game fairly often on /v/ with a number of people playing in a seed at once, since it went on sale for a dollar all the time.

The MC version of the game isn't as liked though.

In Mystery Chronicles, it's the One Way Hero class. The portrait changes when you learn and use the Zenura Sorcery Hero skill.

Party members are pretty dependent on the seed generation. Just take a daily campaign that has some allies at the start if you want an ally.

It's been pretty lucky this run, surviving with single digit HP a couple times and generally good drops.

I've been luring monsters to kill NPCs that I sell all my expensive stuff to, then rinse and repeat for a lot of my silver.

I think it's important to just burn your awakenings if you need to. Try to fight all the weak things you can at the beginning to level up.

There's endings for reaching 2000km without killing the demon lord. OWH+ has an extra special ending for reaching 2000km on easy mode, which is extremely difficult since the demon lord doesn't leave after 400km.

Yes. I was doing this to see if there's a special achievment for 10000km very hard because I still don't know how to unlock the true end, and I don't want to spoiled so I reloaded saves. I don't think 10000km very hard canbe done without it despite Samurai class being the best class in the game. There are too many things able to one shot you when you're near the end; your level max is 999, but monsters level is still increasing each day so you're outleveled too fast
