The technology just isn't there yet
>>
>>384128751
the porn recordings are stretched weirdly around the boarders and some recordings are just shit.
>>
>>384128751
Its just 3D 2.0 and 3D is a fad that keeps coming and going every decade or so.
>>
It's simply too expensive for what it offers. Most "games" for it feel like tech demos or like ports with weirdly adjusted controls, because that's what they are. It's currently a couple steps above the Power Glove and Virtual Boy but will need at last another generation before I becomes viable. Maybe. They've been saying that every generation when they try it.

is there something really wrong with it? I ordered this and its coming in a week or two.

it's still a nice alternative to pure 2D video porn.
Also has full 3d "games" available that don't suffer this problem.
But in that case i hope you enjoy anime.

I happened to get one this past week because of Rift sale. I was the biggest skeptic shitposter forever when it came to VR but after using it, it really is. Valve already made a free tech demo that is just mind blowing. Also got this game for free with it called Robot Recall (?) that is also incredible.

The problem with VR though is the price point. I spent many years slowing building my PC and turning it from garbage to great. And then on top of that, VR is still another ~$700 to get into. Not too many people are going to be interested enough spend that kind of money just to play some games.

That said, it really is a game changer though. The second major issue with it is that there's absolutely no way for anyone to know this unless they're actually able to use it for themselves. The experience can't actually be conveyed through video nor any kind of advertising.

it really is *amazing
>>
>>384128751
no games. exactly why the switch and xbone fail
>>
>>384128751
>No full games worth caring about
>Expensive as hell
>>
>>384128751
Games can be played without VR
>>
Bought a vive and the only thing it was useful for was honeyselect.

Handcrafting waifus in a VR environment was fun but not 800 dollarydoos fun.

>Spend a fortune making a gimmick monitor
>Dont add native support to DirectX, OpenGL or Vulkan 3d graphics.

People aren't getting it because it's expensive and barely any real games out, devs aren't targeting VR because people aren't getting it.

I think the sale going on now will mark a bit of a shift though, and Bethesda of all companies will probably drive a lot of adoption with their games.

>high price was an entry barrier. needed a high end PC in addition to an $800 headset for Vive and Oculus; PSVR was the "cheapest" option at $400
>no games; Wii tier shovelware available for that headset you just paid $800 for
>no one buys because who the fuck pays $800 for shovelware
>no one makes any worthwhile games for it because no one is buying it

VR is a meme and will be that way for generations until it becomes affordable.

300 bucks is what made me pull the trigger on an Oculus.

Nothing went wrong with VR there are just too many poor people who enjoy sour grapes. The Vive is amazing, Rift is great with Touch but lack of room scale sucks.
>>
>>384128751
it isn't a screen replacement, once it becomes it success will follow
>>
Ya'll need to learn to sage.
>>
>>384136075
Rift has roomscale.

nothing. landed 100k from a vr incubator recently just for pitching the most overly simple game idea. at least VCs love it.

Step 1: Get Virtual Desktop (Buy it or Pirate it)
Step 2: Find 3D SBS Videos instead of 360 crap
Step 3: Open the video in Virtual Desktop in fullscreen and press F6

Or alternatively buy Porn games where you can actually move your head around.
