I'm stuck in Diamond 2, and the community is awful. If you ever miss a goal, it's always "What a save! What a save! What a save!"

I have 400 hours in the game, and I'm just bored of it. I don't find it fun anymore.

I just find the camera confusing since it's fixed and I can't co-ordinate my moves too well and I can't really do really high jumps using your boost.

That's just something hours of practice will fix for you. I played 100 hours with keyboard+mouse and I almost never used ball cam. 300 hours later I am with a controller, cam focused on ball all times and I'm finally getting down air rolls and hitting the ball with the front of my car.

Anon, in Rocket League and in many other sports, if you are defending near goal and you don't know whats going on behind or around you and your teammates don't talk. You get it as wide and as far away as possible, IN THAT ORDER.

Because even if you turn it over, they don't immediately get a shot on goal

That's why I never insult my teammate whenever he makes a mistake. And there's no better feeling than seeing the guy that shit talked to you for the whole match actually fucking up, and you just don't say anything or type a quick "No problem.". If you manage to solve the game by yourself then it's even better

I doubt that. I'm having an extended run in Plat 2 3v3 at the moment and I trip over teammates often. It gets shrugged off with a "Sorry!" "No Problem!" 99% of the time and we get on with the game.

You wanted striking tips in your first post. Try building from ground up.:
Use boost mostly as a means to move about quickly. Avoid aerials.

If you do use aerials, only boost in one direction.

Get used to no boost double jumps.

Learn to deflect the ball at angles. But only in situations when the ball is coming towards you and only in offensive situations.

Keep your shots low 90% of the time (getting the car over the top of the ball) unless an opponent is *directly* between you and the goal. in which case it's better to loop a shot and prepare for rebound if it misses
