Same, but RE5 has way better replayability and secondary modes, plus it's one of the best co-op games out there.

The only issue i had with RE6 is that by the end of each story every monster was transforming.

Co-op RE5 is by far and away the best. It gets rid of the gay attache case from 4 but keeps the same gameplay and has well designed areas. You have less mobility than 6, but that game has some of the worst layouts. Solo 5 can duck off though.

RE is a bit of a weird series. Everything past maybe CV feels like it could be an alternate timeline altogether. It's almost like the games weren't meant to progress past 1998.

No, it really doesn't. It takes RE1 and puts it on rails for the VR meme crowd. RE1 also had tons of replay value, once you're done with 7 there's no incentive to play through it again.

And all of those areas were fairly open, and if you wanted to, you could go from the lab to the entrance of the mansion. Meanwhile in VII, once you get to the Happy Birthday puzzle, you're stuck there and are forced to go forward.
The level pacing in VII on the other hand was

5 is superior than 6. Played through it 3 times. Twice by myself and once with a friend.

6 is just a mess. Has some lame animations, some stupid set pieces i.e. Leon runs through a giant crypt underneath a town and the C-virus can resurrect old corpses which is new for RE since they made it a point to only have living people become zombies. Also tons of booby traps cause reasons.
Guns feel weak
Camera isn't all that great
Bosses in each campaign come back over and over to the point where it feels like the developers are just making fun
Levels are mostly cramped
Some super annoying enemies
The perks system is mostly pointless (though some perks increase stamina and ammo drops)
Some shit QTEs

It's cool how you can counter and slide and do kungfu but it seems oddly balanced in the amount of stamina and ammo they give you so you have to manage it until you git gud

The game felt like it'd be better suited as a Dino Crisis revival.

HUD was good and very responsive compared to previous games, it's suited very well for online coop.
As for gameplay, RE6 has the best gameplay from the entire series, a lot of neat things has been added.
You are trying very hard to nitpick any little thing to make RE6 as bad as possible while also exaggerating few things you listed and because of that pretty much everything you listed is wrong about the game.
