I still prefer the jap voices but casting english voice actors for the dub instead of american garbage did wonders for the dub and it's probably the best and perhaps the only good dub for a JRPG.

Because of the funky way the original masters were recorded, voices still occassionally sound a little tinny, but the definitely uncompressed the audio. The old game was 4gb, this one is 40.
