I liked the gameplay on BbS, the command system, and the story a lot. Although I hated some of the minigames, the repetitive content, and some of the character like Aqua, and Ventus.

Combat is weird though, the fact that mana was replaced by cooldowns and that you have to put the same spells multiple times to avoid cooldowns is pretty stupid

358/2 Days would be great if it got completely remade from the ground up on console. Problem being, there's no incentive to do that. At least not any time soon. I imagine they'll put it in the "Kingdom Hearts Complete Bundle" after they finish the series but want to keep milking it, if at all.

Can we stop pretending Kh1 has aged well?

After playing the games again in the re releases it really exposed just how slow and clunky the first game was. Also as much as the worlds actually meant something in 1 and there was a point to the different sections passed being hallways of heartless...the platforming wasn't nearly good enough to justify it and sometimes it made worlds feel like they took much longer than they actually did (I'm no longer upset deep jungle won't ever return to KH. Combat also felt very janky, even magic which I thought was good doesn't flow well into your combo chains as much as i thought it did.

The only games worse than KH1 are days and coded.

The combat itself is clunky, but the bosses are still better designed than most handheld bosses sadly especially the super bosses. And it aged really well in terms of visuals and effects etc.
