Well to be fair, you don't have to grind very long to buy a new char, plus the freely avilable characters always switch every few weeks or so, allowing you to try before unlocking.

They have just enough spread so that it doesn't actually matter where exactly you're aiming on the enemy, because you have like a 10°-15° cone of fire. Shooting someone in the upper body gives you better overall damage and accuracy than shooting at the head will, purely because of the spread.

The game is also only fast when you're sprinting in a straight line. Stop sprinting and it becomes CS tiers of slow. Strafing has a shit ton of inertia making 1v1 duels fucking retarded and boring.

It would be alright if they removed the iron sights and the cowadoody sprint mechanic that lowers your weapon so you can't shoot while sprinting, then maybe increased base movement speed a little or at least reduced the fuckhuge inertia.

and you can also buy a bundle of mercs if you want to skip the progression and you know maybe support the devs...

i do agree that dropping the sprint in favor of a generally increased walk speed would be better though

The problem is that Splash Damage are retards who are still stuck trying to emulate Cowadoody when the fad died more than five years ago. The cowadoody elements are what ruined Brink, and they're also what ruined Dirty Bomb.

Back when they were making Brink, some community rep (or maybe even one of the actual devs) was posting on a Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory competitive scene forum for input on the game. It was revealed that the game was going to have iron sights and no-shoot sprinting in it, and the community made it clear that they thought they were bad additions and will slow the game down. The devs' response was that "this is just something the market expects now because of the popularity of CoD", or something along those lines. Their game bombed fucking hard because it had no idea what it wanted to be.

I can't believe they're repeating the same fucking mistake with the same mistaken line of thinking 5 years later.

Even the visual design of this game is cowadoody as hell. It's so fucking bland and brown&bloom, and none of the characters are likeable or memorable at all.
