Two options. The optimal one, that I like to call "just fucking ignore them you goddamn faggot holy shit grow a spine". In most modern games you're never much more than three or so clicks away from quite literally never hearing from someone again. You should use that feature.
The less optimal but more fun-inducing one: the counter troll. Nine times out of ten the person talking shit at you doesn't have a plan for any response much more sophisticated than "nuh-uh". Use that advantage and catch him off guard, and make his friends laugh at him. Someone calls you a faggot? Don't deny it. Say something along the lines of "say that to my face not online and I'll suck your dick while maintaining eye contact faggot". Someone says you suck at the game? Go out of your way to personally ruin his game. They say you shouldn't use [suboptimal build]? Use that and be better than them.
Get creative or just ignore them you spineless fucknapkin.
