Tekken series if you want something more modern but street fighter 4 and killer instinct are probably easier to pick up if you have a fight stick amd they have better training modes plus there is more documentation on street fighter if you search the internet

I'd start with Armored core series it's a mix between utilitarian/military and Gundam mechs. It's not a walking tank slow meme as MechWarrior is and in later games you even go anime levels of fast but I recommend starting with the PS2 ones.
