I'm not a huge fan because I don't enjoy the game mechanic. It isn't that they're failing to accomplish what the game sets out to do, its just that I don't have a lot of fun doing it personally, but a lot of people do.

Don't let people scare you with early access stuff either. Normally I'd say to stay the fuck away from any early access/greenlight nonsense as well as preorders or kickstarters but the developers for this game have been very active and on point with fixes and updates. They have scaled operations well for the huge player base it has developed, and they are releasing regular quality updates. The game right now is head and shoulders above where it was at launch.

I'd suggest watching some twitch streams of pubg before deciding whether or not it appeals to you.

You're missing out on a whole lot t.b.h., since duo and squad are a much different flavor. Duo is an interesting level of high stakes because a.) you can revive your partner which means gunfights are much more protracted and b.) if you catch the pair split up and down one person permanently, you pretty much destroyed their chances of winning the game. So an extremely high level of cooperation is required to avoid being caught out of position.

Squad is more like herding cats. I've played at least 90 rounds of squad overall (unfortunately usually with 3, not 4 people) and I still can't claim to understand it. It's a mess.

I think you pretty much know whether you'll enjoy the game by looking at it. If you're asking due to the early access stigma I'd still recommend it, the devs are regularly updating it and listening to feedback.

Solos are frustrating until you learn the game pretty well so it's better if you have a group to play with but it's not impossible to win early on.

You could try something like be aware of where people might be at that time of the game, this takes into account the flight path of the plane, this can tell you where people may have landed and if they are in the surrounding area. It's alright if thinking isn't your strong suit, but if you keep at it, one day you'll actually learn something :^)

I highly recommend a stalker mod "Call of chernobyl". It "requires" the original game, but not really. It's completely standalone, just find a stalker registry file and put it in your system to fool the mod installer.

Premise of the mod: No storyline, play as any faction on ALL the maps from ALL the games (including cut maps!). NPC life is unrestricted, so anything can happen anywhere. You can make change how many shit is happening around you to your liking. Remember to install a weapon pack, because playing it with vanilla weapons is dreadful. Also, only ironman mode.

The game is incredibly unoptimized in its current state.

I have a pretty powerful PC and it makes it get loud as shit, and barely holds 60 unless you turn down all the settings.
