The game has an extremely entitled fanbase. Every player in FGC is willing to adapt to be best at the newest game. Marvel vs Capcom 2 is the best MvC, but the MvC community continues to adapt. Third Strike is the best SF, but the SF community continues to adapt.

Meanwhile Melee continues to have autist clutching onto the "best" iteration of their game playing with their half-broken controllers. They cannot adapt. Top MvC players form 2 are in the top 8 of MvC. Top SFIV players are in the top 8 of SF. When was the last time a Melee player been in top 8 of Smash 4? Nintendo hates the fan base, and the continued support for the game. It'll be a matter of time before the hardware to play Melee on will no longer exist. The FGC can get get gud, but Meleefags will never move on.
