Honestly I'm low ranked in overwatch and find that I play better without voice chat. No one in plat or below is using voice chat to actually make calls they are either
A:Complaining
B:Spouting unhelpful memes that while sometimes are funny aren't contributing to the game
C: Flat out raging
I just mute the chat most of the time to keep myself from tilting.

If you want to get out of plat you need to constantly remind your team to group up and not peak the enemy team alone. People in plat are stupid as fuck and they need to be babysitted. Everytime 2 or 3 die during a team fight yell "fall back". People think that they're going to make a sick play that is going to but their team at an advantage but they just end up dying because they always get outnumbered

It's a delicate balance between communication and irritation in those ranks. If you are trying to constantly remind them they may end up get titled by your actions and begin to throw or not listen.

Also I've never been confident enough with my own ability to take charge. I always assume I'm the worst player on any team I'm apart of regardless of how well I'm doing
