I never fully understood the hate for Vaan in FF12. I know hes clueless and adds mostly nothing to the story. But I feels its ok to have a character in a story you follow along with to experience the things around them. Its an adventure after all.

Or is the hate from the knowledge that if we were in the story he's exactly who we would be.
