Overstrike wasn't going to be a TF2 clone.
They just serious-ed everything the fuck up and removed any jokes or interesting weapons for the sake of a "mature audience". You can blame EA for the Focus groups that they had to abide by.

It was going to be the same game but with fucking personality and interesting weapons.
