Anon what's it like to exist without constant connection to the internet/Vidya gayme entertainment?
t.Born in '99

I had some old flip phone with like 4 colors. I could text and browse the web, but web browsing was shit. I mostly let kids at school call friends and family in exchange for lunch items.
>>384048998
I used to have a flip phone that browsed the web, how did that even work?
>>384049080
I remember my old Nokia brick phone, you had to hit the WWW (world wide web) icon, then select a site like CNN or CNBC. Articles would come up, text only, and if you clicked on them, the text would show up; images would populate like 3 minutes later. I did it for a month and had a $179 bill and my parents told me to fucking stop. Don't know how it worked; there wasn't wifi so maybe it was all off the cell towers on the text message bandwidth
>>384049489
Sounds like ass. Would you say it's better to have all the constant connections we do to the internet?
>>384049661
uh yeah, obviously it is or people wouldn't be obsessed with it.
>>384049661
It's better now. I remember it cost like $99 a month for unlimited texts. But the cell carries limited texts to 168 characters (and still do to this day) because this is the amount of info that can be sent to cell towers in their regular location pings. Basically, the carriers charged you to send info they were sending anyway. Got bitched out by my parents for sending too many texts to my gf. I think the bill was ~$300 before they got the unlimited plan

In 99% of games with an "AK-47" it usually is not one.

Holy fuck that actually does sound terrible.

It was shit way back when. I'm from Orlando and went to New Orleans with my uncle for a week. Called my parents and talked to them for 2 hours. It counted as "roaming" and our 2 hour talk was just shy of $400. Then things got better with unlimited data for like $120 a month then they got rid of it. Data is cheap now but the carriers are fucking all of us.

I'd recommend using cards, and why did stuff like that stop?
>wake up
>dogs quiet
>clear weather
