The sneering anti-leveling guy or the defendant at the bottom? I'd say the defendant. There's a disctinct satisfying feeling that sparks from the payoff of grinding for however long you feel comfortable doing so and then completely bashing a tough boss that was handing you your own ass before you decided to grind. Whether or not its as satisfying at just changing equipment or tactics (Often not viable in JRPGs alone) is a pointless preferential debate, but ALLOWING for grinding as an optional way to beat tough bosses is good game design.

Why not just add an easy mode? Cut out the middleman?
