I can't understand people who claim to call themselves gamers who play without filters. How can you ignore the artist's original vision and play an ugly, corrupted version where they were limited by pixel-counts and hardware?
Boggles my noggin.

I seriously can't understand wanting to use a scanlines filter
It looks like shit on a flat screen and it isn't different from a bilinear filter except from the fact that it turns the screen darker
>I can't understand people who claim to call themselves gamers who play without filters.
You mean with? was that a typo?
it's not an authentic retrogaming exprerience™ unless you use composite filters

Next time write it as "Boggles my noggle." for perfection.

He's implying that filters are more authentic to the original vision. Read the very last part again
just play on original hardware if you want the [real gamer](tm) experience
Playing a game and caring about am artist's vision are two different things.
I love vidya, and I hate filters, but the 'artist vision' argument is retarded. The whole point of games is you are in control, to a greater or lesser extent, and one of the most fun things about games is doing things the creators never intended or accounted for.
He's right.
When a console game gets ported to PC, do you play on the lowest settings to stay true to the console experience? No, the developer was originally limited by constraints that you aren't. You can experience the game in the best looking way possible.

Its a fucking travesty that so many videos of old games on youtube have it stretched to 16:9 with some horrible blur filter added. How brain damaged does one have to be to enjoy such garbage?

> muh artistic vision
