AAA publishers can hire enough people that you've got monkeys writing mediocre Shakespeare, and indie devs can flop together something in Unity or Gamemaker in a month and have something passable. When you have a barrier, it takes a bit of passion in your work to get around it.

Alternatively, if someone thinks your game is going to be amazing, you don't necessarily feel like you have to put work into it, i.e. Mighty No. 9, Bloodstained, and Yooka-Laylee

Actually I only played the games where Dracula feels like the only antagonist of the game. Isaac was pretty forgettable in Curse Of Darkness. I don't even remember the bad guys from Dawn of Sorrow...

I know that Satan is a bit of a "hey I was the bad guy all along" final boss but everything about him stuck with me. His simple design, the way he speaks about God, the vicious things he says to Gabriel about what he has planned to do with Marie...

And the difficulty is a joke, as soon as you find a few items the game becomes laughably easy until castle 2, then you find a few more items and it becomes retarded easy again. On my first playthough a couple weeks ago I beat the game without dying to a single boss. They die so damn fast.

It was "fun" but hard to appreciate when you steamroll through. Aria and circle of the moon are both superior gameplay experiences.

How would you feel if they made remasters of the GBA games? Including fixing things like CotM's card drops not making any sense, HoD's poor map design choices, adjusting difficulty or drop rates, better music, etc.. I feel like CotM and HoD could both be really great games if they just had a few things ironed out and fixed up, and I'd be fine if they sold them together as a remaster bundle.
