The motion controls are there specifically to make those slight adjustments, similar to how people naturally move the controller around when playing anyway.

Just use the stick when you need to turn at wider angles quickly because it's way faster.

The aiming in Splatoon 1 was fucking horrible too.

That's why so many people use the roller.

Console shooters usually need aim assist because their controls aren't as accurate as a keyboard and mouse.
