It seems like video games are the only medium where there are competitive players that absolutely fucking hate the game they play. I just don't want to deal with the toxic communities that act like children. I don't want to try and tolerate the horrible match making that companies have yet to perfect. I don't want to dedicate the time and energy it takes to learn a competitive game. I don't want the stress of something so trivial in my life. I just want to have fun.

This is the reason COOP games are the only online games I play. The vast majority of people grow out of competitive games eventually.

What's the point if I have nothing to gain from it?
If I'm fighting someone to take their territory or land to expand, or to level up and get stronger, fuck yeah, that's fun.
If it's just for a big "YOU WIN" message at the end and a kickback to the lobby/menu then it's not as fun.

Not every game is reaction based, and allowing access to all the highest tier shit right from the start would ruin the challenge/fun. Exp acts as a gateway to the higher shit, but good games with it also require you to plan and think ahead of what you'll specialize in as you reach higher levels. It's no fun when it hits autistic levels of "how the fuck would I have known this without a guide" character planning but someone who stuck to a path but is lower level should be able to beat a fuckhead who put points everywhere but is higher level.

If it's one thing I love doing on competitive games, it's beating arrogant nerds who taunt. I love getting an embarrassing win on then and teabagging or taunting them, nothing pisses me off more than people who have pride. that's what drives me to win. u hate humans so much I want to break their spirit, possibly make them quit the Gane forever. it all started when I used to be made fun of when I started playing COD in middle school and sucked. I trained my ass off and made sure I kicked my friends asses in game.
