I'd recommend the Trails in the Sky series, seems right up your alley, plus they're great games.

Mewgenics, it's made by the same guy as super meat boy and binding of isaac. He keeps stopping development of it to work on other games and then comes back to it. It's supposed to be like a tamogotchi thing or something where you breed cats to get mutations and compete in things like underground fights, races and pageants.

Finally got Operation Babel this year and found the game to be completely lacking in heart and content. Seems like Experience inc wasted all their time on unfucking SOSC.
