What's the sequel bringing to the table that the original didn't have? I thought the original was a showcase for the nemesis system, but I don't think I've heard of any other games implementing it or anything like it despite it being fairly popular.

Is nemesis a status you can see in the hit list or just someone you fight in the last mission? I'm halfway through the game and it doesn't feel like there could be any nemesis if you just kill them in your first or second meeting.

I honestly think this will be infinitely more satisfying than the Nemesis system.

Once you throw your Uruk Captains into fortress battles, it'll be chaos and you'll always randomly be losing a Captain here and there. Which will be so much more tense when you've perhaps spent dozens of battles with a certain Captain and then they die unexpectedly during a fight.

Intel and Talion becoming OP sorta fucked the Nemesis system, as you had way too much information about Uruk's before engaging them in combat and Talion was far too strong. However you won't have as much control regarding your Captains during a siege, so it'll be a lot more tense.

I can't get into this game. Bought it for ~4$ last sale and played it for like 5-6 hours, but so far, it seems like the only things you do is wander around, fight some uruk, kill him/get killed by him. Also, almost everytime I'm fighting a captain, another captain joins in from somewhere. So far I've met some guys who are complete jokes, and some who are literally indestructible. And this is every mission, except the ones I've done that contains Gollum.

The stealth part of the game seems a bit broken, I could just run up to a gang of wandering uruks and, from back to front, kill them all with stealth like no big deal.

What's the deal, does it get better?

Don't use runes, don't use the resilience/double execution talents. Don't upgrade your health. Don't use the free executions for 20 seconds ability. Stick with the first to 2nd tiers of the upgrade list and you should be fine for difficulty.

Same, every captain that I find gets close to being a good nemesis I either get too big an urge to revenge murder or convert because I'm impressed by them.

That said heres Flak the Whiner. Like most uruk surviving getting casually shanked by the gravewalker twice was enough to get promoted as bodyguard. After being a dick and interrupting a feast I was interrupting I made him my follower and had him murder the host and then his warchief who was thinking of gifting him his favorite bodyguard manflesh. He loves it being under my command

Try taking on a Warchief in his stronghold while dealing with a few other decently leveled Captains that just so happen to be there AND the Warchief's bodyguards if you didn't deal with them separately.

Theres also killing them with a ranged headshot resulting in metal plating on one side of their head and I don't remember what they get but one for tricking other uruk into killing them. Whats neat about the system is that the captains actually comment on how they died when you fight them again.

Yeah, that's what the Nemesis Forge update was. A free DLC for Shadow of Mordor that came out last week. It's basically a way to import your favorite Follower and Nemesis into Shadow of War.

You can literally jump each and every one of those guys and not get punished. Exception would be the Captain IFF he has the trait that blocks vaulting. Hell, those guys will actually make it easier by giving you free kills and execution chances.
Even if you do get overrun you can just start running and abuse stealth since the AI's dumb. Late game you have not just one, but THREE free kill modes.
You have to jump through a bunch of hoops like purposely dying to captains and being lucky enough that they group up in one spot to have a challenge.
The game's pretty fun and the combat's satisfying but it offers no challenge nor depth. Don't even get me started on the final boss "fight"

Mind you if you re-forge you basically bring any dead orcs you killed back from the dead.

BASICALLY, The forge places you in Nurm, you can't go to Udin, and the Orcs in the System are always revealed with their weaknesses as they come in. And initially the order of them are based on who you worked with the most in the main game itself. Top left being most interacted, bottom right being least interacted with.

If you want legit fresh orcs outside of killing certain Orcs in the Forge and waiting for new ones to show up, then head into the main game and weed out the orcs you don't care about, then head into the forge and re-forge once you play with some new Orc blood you're interested in.

You think that's something? I got this guy 6 times total! First when I was fucking around with the Nemsis system for fun. Then again when he came back. Then again when eh ambushed me, then AGIAN 5 minutes after ambushing me.

Then after hours of being in Nurm and playing the campaign and collecting EVERYTHING, he's right there for Tower boss confrontation bit.

THAT moment, was when I realized Shadow of Mordor was a good game.

The injuries are more or less the same for every other uruk you killed normally. I think killing them using bows/fire changes something that's not head-based.

He can if you go into the Forge and basically "play" with him more. Just have him riot against low level Uruks until he's level 20 and/or the white hand is above him. Then quit and save and you're set to go.

It was some fat faggot who always talked shit when he saw me, I'd kick his ass and he'd always manage to escape.

Fucking coward managed to survive till the final battle so I doubt I'd be seeing him again anyway. Can't even remember his name.

This spear chucking fucker who was immune to everything, threw near OHKO poison spears, refused death blows, and had the trait which made come back from death 99% of the time. I branded him in the end, but he died in the final battle so I can't import him to Shadow of War.

What new shit/improvements do you want to see for the next game?
>limb dismemberment and not just the heads
>more mission variety for your branded captains/warchiefs
>improved lock-on(i've killed most of my branded captains during large fights with executions)
>option to "un-brand" some uruks
>management screen for your captains/warchiefs so you don't have to fast travel all over the map just to give them missions
>more traits in general
>having those traits actually matter during captain duels/riots

Something like prosthetic arms/legs/hands would be really fucking cool for enemies who's limbs you've cut off. Maybe you could even get a golem-like Uruk who's mostly prosthetic, who's limbs can no longer be damaged, but has a weak spot around his heart or the back of his head.
