okay, but the difficulty here is their competitive model. No major esports organization wants to front several million dollars for a spot in their leagues. Most of them barely scrape by on merch, much less have millions sitting in the bank to fund that sorta shit, and it shows with the disappearance of big organizations like nip and dignitas and the other ones that all quit comp OW.

I get what they're going for, they want big more sponsored groups with REAL players with REAL tryouts and not just groups of friends, to make shit more appealing to watch, but the game isn't deep enough to allow people that level of control over their teams. It's got a decent skill ceiling don't get me wrong, but you're not going to have a variance of skill levels on the level of something like dota, CS:GO, or even league.

They need to fix their competitive league models, and then, and only then, will they be able to thrive in the competitive scene. They have tons of money, there's 0 reason they need to make pools tens of millions of dollars right now by c harging such exorbitant registration prices.

The problem is that OW e-sport scene is a vegetable artificially kept alive by Blizzard pumping money into it.
They succeeded with HS only because there was no competition back when it launched but overall their games are aimed at a very casual audience to get money from them, so any competitive scene is almost impossible in them.
