Gdq says it's a charity event, and it is, because all donations go to charity. But those charities - msf and some cancer shit - take a chunk of those donations and pay the staff and production crews from the companies that set up and manage the semi-annual gdq events - with a chunk of those donations.

Nothing wrong with that in principle but they deliberately misrepresent their events. Thankfully charities need open books so we can all see the charities are paying the gdq staff for the events.

Long story short, if you're going to donate, donate directly to the charity, which you have researched beforehand, rather than donating through gdq.

MSF are very reputable, so are Amnesty International, but what I remember of the cancer charity that uses gdq is less impressive.

10% net income to reputable charities directly, charity events for entertainment, that's good. Letting yourself believe gdq is anything other than entertainment, that's bad.
