Be honest: mid-level checkpoints would have made this game a lot more fun.

I love difficulty, but stuff like having to replay entire chapters always kills me.
>>
>>383985552
git gud

this game is way to easy even on the hardest difficulty, how can you die anyways stupid nigger, neck yourself
>>
>>383985884
I assume you've never played something like Crash Course on Realism Expert, where the level's length makes any reload a fucking slog
>>

>>

I never played Crash Course and even I can say L4D versus wasn't that hard. Even if you had a shitty team you could still make it to the safehouse. Just listen for audio cues you dumb nigger.

>>
>>383985552
Each chapter is already short as fuck though.
>>
>>383985961
i was also gonna tell you the levels arent that long, but now that you mention crash course, i dont blame you. literally every other campaign has a final level where the walk up to the radio is only like 2 minutes, but in crash course it might as well be its own level. i wanna say the passing did something similar, but its been a while. the sacrfice also feels unfair since it guarantees a tank and horde battle
>>
>>383985552
Wait people actually play this game for anything other than versus?
>>
>>383986617
A lot of L4D2's levels have this issue since they're not all 5-part campaigns
>>
The chapters are the mid level checkpoints
>>
>>383986382

>all that weebshit

Seriously hope that's not you anon.
>>
>>383986707
>playing versus
If they ever make an L4D3 they need to make official CONFOGL servers. Then I will be able to play versus without dealing with rampant faggots looking for the best of the best in fucking pubs.
>>
>>383986815
i only really started playing 2 once they brought oer the l4d1 maps, sometime not too familiar with 2. the only level i really hate in 2 is the one in hard rain where you have to backtrack through 2 levels worth of shit youve already seen in violent rain and flooded houses. some of dark carnival is tedious, like how i think level 4 lets you see the safe room, but its behind a fence that you have to take a like 10 minute detour around with one of those unlimited hordes. those are the only really bad moments i can remember. i also dont like unlimited hordes unless its the finale.
>>
>>383987125
Try playing some of those campaigns that aren't 5 chapters long. They're miserably long. The finale chapter of Hard Rain is as long as the first chapter, but ALSO includes a finale section.
>>
>>383987071
I haven't played in ages. Is this a thing now? I remember back in l4d1 and the early to post dlc of 2 days people would just pug and be fine, you only vote kicked people if they were exceptionally retarded.

But I was also pretty tryhard at l4d and would never get kicked so maybe I just flew under the radar.
>>
There are. They are called safe rooms, am i being trolled?
>>
>>383987242
I was kicked once just because I only had 60 hours on record. 60 hours is a high stat in the first place, but they also wouldn't listen to the fact that I had over 500 on consoles.

>>383987291
Chapters are too long without checkpoints. Try playing Crash Course on Realism Expert, get to the finale, and try over.
>>
There are mid level checkpoints you spoon. The saferooms are the checkpoints you silly peasant.

You're just shit.
>>
>>383987220
hard rain is 5 chapters, and i think were both complaining about the same level, level 4. it makes you back track through part 2 and 3 in one go during the storm. level 5 parks you like a minute from the burger tank finale. regardless, i dont like hard rain anyway.
http://left4dead.wikia.com/wiki/Hard_Rain
>>
>>383987242
Yeah. I've been kicked multiple times for failing death charges due to shitboxes. If you take a look at any steam guides on versus they always tell you "if you want to play versus you gotta play 100 hours in expert campaign first". It doesn't really surprise me that this has happened, as mostly old players are on it now, but it still sucks.
>>
>>383987319
Yes, but that's why they have safe rooms so you don't have to try over when you get to the finale? Usually one near the finale.
I feel like this is a joke I am not getting.

Anyone got L4D stories to share or reasons why you were vote kicked. I was vote kicked off a versus game because I wasn't able pull off a skeet shot with a sniper on a hunter and my team went full autismo and vote kicked me saying we only play with 1 shotters here son. At the very least I managed to shoot all the cars on the third map on parish before i got booted.

Pretty fucking garbage. I don't know where this bullshit mindset came from, but it's a sure fire way to make sure the game you like never grows. I'm sorry you guys didn't get to experience the games in the glory days when everyone would just play and there weren't autist tryhards imposing bullshit rules on you. Versus was pure fun. I had so many games where 5 pugs would come together and beat out a group of autists like the ones your guys post mentions and they'd all instantly leave the moment they lost instead of saying gg or anything.
>>
>>383987727
I hate this kinda shit. I get that you should naturally want to succeed and make it through the level, but where's the fun if you don't have a cliche movie moment where someone is in danger and one character just can't get the shot on them in the midst of everything?

Makes the experience richer even when we lose.

A tank spawned further in in the parking lot so i can only hope they wiped when I shot the cars once they decided to vote kick for the hunter nonsense too once i climbed the ladder

>Crash Course
There's yer problem. All the short campaigns were specifically designed to be played in VS. You're not expected to make it to the end and if you do the rounds are as long as an ordinary campaign. The length and time investment is very deliberate for those maps.

wow sorry to hear that anon. I had similar experience when I decided to join expert realism game on Dead Air just to try something new. 2 minutes in a random joins in takes an auto shotty and incaps the whole team and leaves. Then the other two guys on my team starts accusing me of being friends with that guy cause they claimed shit went wrong as soon as I joined in so it was my fault so I was associated with him somehow by that logic. I even told them to check my friends list but one of them said "NO TIME! YOU GO NOW!" and I got kicked. I laughed cause of his foreign accent and broken English but sometimes this community makes me wonder sometimes.

Weird thing is this happens to almost every fps coop game.
It's happened to Payday 2 (mostly with players with low levels for some reason), Left 4 Dead, and TF2's MVM mode. Why do coops bring in all the faggots?

That kinda grinds my gears anon. I can't believe that was even a valid reason for a justified vote kick. >>
>>383990467
They were in the area where you're on the roof of the barn and drop down once, and go up the ladder to do it again. Easy for the Tank to get to them.
They were trying to stand their ground, I guess.
>>383990495
>Last Man on Earth [] so tense
I agree. That one's pretty fun.

Idunno man, I found something good about most of the maps in the game, which ones really bothered you? Death Toll was right up my alley, loved forcing players in versus to backtrack in the stage 4 event.
>>
>>383985552
Be honest: you're just bad
>>
>>383990658
I think lone gunman is much more difficult and tense. LMOE gives you access to all sorts of weaponry and the infected have low spawnrates. Gunman only gives you a fairly powerful pistol and there are a ton of CI to kill, then you have to deal with tanks on top of that.

>I decide to set up for a death pull across from the escalators but a teammate who is a boomer thinks its wise to park right next to me and I tell them to try another spot but not responding.
>The enemy team goes up but hears the boomer who spawned in after me and shoot the boomer immediately as i try to grab one of them but miss my chance for a death pull because the boomer explosion stumbles me.
>The boomer teammate starts giggling like a schoolgirl afterwards and I get mildly annoyed and tell them to go away.
>Eventually this teammate starts following me next round and continues to shoot me and shove me for attention.
>I get fed up and incap her and she starts screaming loudly while I laugh.
>A few moments later I get kicked from the server and get a group invite titled "Don't incap my girlfriend fag."
I just sit there on my chair dumbfounded at home and couldn't help but laugh
>>
>>383990848
Actually, now that you mention it, I like Death Toll 1, 2 and 4. Really hate 3 and the finale though.

I don't know, the level design wasn't as tight on other campaigns. I think of No Mercy and Dead Air and so many spots come to mind, while I have a harder time remembering the other maps at all.

I only managed to run into one of the two a few weeks later in a Dark Carnival game while he was spamming his shitty music with his crappy blue tooth headset. As soon as I recognized him I immediately incapped him and told him the same thing he told me believe it or not. "NO TIME! YOU GO NOW!" while we vote kicked him out for his loud music which felt pretty good all the while he was cursing me out when it all went down. I still don't think he really recognized me though but it felt good either way.

I'm guessing he just made the group quickly just to send me a message without friend requesting me but quite possibly it might have been their main group who knows. In competitive if you're a faggot you get your shit pushed in eventually. In coop you can impose your "best way of doing things" on others, and it may be a solid tactic or whatever but it kills the fun too.
